About Us
For more than 50 years, our Art Society has brought creative people together to discover, share and celebrate art. Today, we’re a thriving community of over 80 members, supported by an elected committee and a dedicated team of volunteers.
We welcome artists of all backgrounds and abilities. In our friendly, sociable atmosphere, members can explore the work of inspiring artists, discover new techniques and exchange ideas with fellow creatives.
Our members work across an exciting range of media—from acrylics, oils and printmaking to collage, sculpture and needlecraft. Our lively programme of events runs from September to March, complemented by two annual exhibitions where members can showcase and sell their work to the public.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, helping with events, publicity, refreshments and exhibitions. Every member is encouraged to get involved—whether by stewarding an exhibition, sharing their work or suggesting artists, topics and techniques for future events.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional, an enthusiastic amateur or simply passionate about art, you’ll find fresh inspiration, learning, friendship and valuable opportunities to connect with other artists and promote your work.

Free entry to our demonstrations by renowned local artists. We have a variety of exciting artists who come along to give live demonstrations, twice a month from September through to April. This is a great opportunity to learn new media and techniques while meeting other artists in an fun environment.

Exhibit and sell your work at our prestigious annual Showcase Exhibition held in the Malthouse Gallery, The Town Mill, Lyme Regis. Entry fees and conditions apply.

Become a featured artist in our Member’s Galleries and showcase your work. Another way to drive traffic to your own website or social media pages.

Join one of our regular specialist painting groups, such as the ‘Plein Air’ group.

Our Membership Card entitles you to 10% discount when paying by cash in Lyme Regis art shop, Fine Art & Framing. There’s also a 10% discount for Members on all framing services and on the full range of Windsor & Newton art supplies from Seaton Art Frame & Print. It can also be used at the Bridport Arts and Crafts to access their membership discounts
